How Real Estate Commissions Work

When you sell your home, part of the money you make on the sale goes toward agent commissions. Not only do you pay your own agent, but you also provide a commission for the buyer's agent -- usually 3% of your home's sale price for each agent.

While you still pay a 3% fee to the buyer's agent, I charge only half 1% of your home's sale price to list and sell your home. This means your total agent commission will be 4%, instead of 6%, which can represent thousands of dollars in savings. I never charge an up-front fee; if your home doesn't sell or if you decide I am not right for you, you're always free to work with someone else.
